Listen as it calls out;
Let understanding raise its' voice,
Getting your attention with a shout.
The simple will become sensible,
The foolish will gain knowledge;
Listen, for wisdom is worthy,
Educating you, like college.
It was there before time began,
Before the oceans came to be.
Choose wisdom over riches,
Be discerning in all that you see.
The wise only speak the truth,
Their lips detest wickedness;
They hate pride and arrogance,
Evil behaviour and sinfulness.
Fear the Lord, despise wrongdoing,
Always follow wise instruction;
Walk along the paths of justice,
Possess knowledge and discretion.
Those who love wisdom find it,
Making their treasuries full;
Whoever finds wisdom finds life,
The Lord's favour is on them all.
Blessed is the man who listens,
And watches daily at wisdom's door;
He will rejoice in God's presence,
And will have life forevermore.
