October 2013...It was Time to say Goodbye

It was time to say goodbye,
Your suffering I regret,
I heard each groan and cry,
Your bravery I won’t forget.

It was time to say goodbye,
Time to leave all pain behind,
I tried not to question why…
God brought me peace of mind.

It was time to say goodbye,
I remember it differently now,
Life today would make you sigh,
Cause a frown upon your brow.

It was time to say goodbye,
Happy memories remain
Imprinted in my mind’s eye,
Until we meet again.

It was time to say goodbye.
Time for you to depart,
Now an angel in the sky,
You will live on in my heart.

 Rest In Peace.

September 2013...My Best Friend

When I was still a young girl

With pony-tails in my hair,

Jesus gave me my best friend

With whom my life I'd share.

God knew the responsibilities

Of things I could not foresee,

So He sent a special person

To walk each step with me.

We were there for each other

Through times of family strife.

We studied hard together,

Preparing ourselves for life.

The wedding bells sounded

As down the aisle we walked.

Planning for our future,

We talked, and talked, and talked.

Our family was extended,

With babies one, two and three.

They have truly been blessings,

Our special gifts from Thee.

Lord You've walked beside us,

Every step of the way.

Your love resides within us,

You guide us when we stray.

Where the years have gone,

I really do not know.

But our love grows deeper

As along the path of life we go.

Now I want to thank you Doug,

For your love so strong and true.

I would not be who I am today

If God hadn't given me you.

August 2013...God of All Comfort

Today someone prays for comfort,

For those who have suffered loss.

God our Father in heaven understands,

He saw His Son die on the cross.

He knows the pain you are feeling,

His soul cries out to you.

He's holding you close to His heart,

He is carrying you through.

God, the Father of compassion,

Enfolds you with His comfort...

He tells you not to sorrow hopelessly,

Because eternal life, His Son has bought.

Our loved one's bodies have fallen asleep,

Their spirits have gone to be with the Lord.

When Jesus returns, He'll bring the dead,

And their bodies will be their eternal reward.

Right now you feel weary and empty,

There's a void that cannot be filled.

Each day feels so long and so lonely,

The pain within won't be stilled.

"Blessed are those who mourn,

For they will be comforted..."

These promises the Lord has given,

As your tears from Him can't be hid.

With God we need not fear,

No sadness should cloud our minds,

For each moment lies in His hands,

With Him, peace is what we'll find.

So cast all sorrow upon Him,

Fret not about what tomorrow may bring,

For the Lord watches over His children,

With Him, we can face anything.

July 2013...The Christ in Us

Dear Lord,
You are the Christ in us.
Our Redeemer,
Our Saviour.

May others see Your Glory,
As Your love shines through us.
May Your graciousness
Be reflected in our lives.

We pray that the living waters
bubbling within us,
May draw those who thirst,
To You for all eternity.

Lord, hide Yourself in us,
We are Your instruments of ministry.
You are the hand, we are the glove,
Use us now, we offer our lives to You.

Not our will but Thy will be done.

June 2013...May God Strengthen You

Dear Father God,

For this reason I kneel before You,

To pray that out of Your glorious riches
You may strengthen us with power

Through Your Spirit in our inner being,

So that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith.

And I pray that we,
being rooted and established in love,

May have power, together with all the saints,

To grasp how wide and long and high and deep
 is the love of Christ,

And to know this love that surpasses knowledge.

May we be filled to the measure
of all the fullness of God.

Now to You who is able to do immeasurably more
 than all we ask or imagine,

According to Your power that is at work within us,

To You be glory in Christ Jesus
throughout all generations,

For ever and ever!

Amen.

Ephesians 3: 14-21

May 2013...My Roots

I pray that I will not be rooted

in barren ground:

That I will not seek strength

in human flesh;

That I will not walk in the counsel

of the wicked;

That I will not turn my heart

away from the Lord.

I pray that I will be planted

by streams of water:

That I will be blessed because

I trust in the Lord.

That my delight will be in the law

of the Lord,

On which I meditate

night and day.

I pray that in the year of drought,

I will show no distress:

For my roots will stretch out into

the streams of Living Water.

For the Lord will probe my mind

and test my heart,

And reward me according to the merit

of my ways and deeds.

Amen.

April 2013...Parenthood

God, You have blessed us

With Your Gift of Love.

A little angel sent down

From our Father above.

I was merely a woman,

God sent you as my child;

I am now your mother,

Gentle, loving and mild.

I was just a man

Until you came along;

Now I am your father,

Protective and strong.

We were a couple,

You have made us three,

With you, God has blessed us,

We’ve become a family.

Children are a blessing,

Sent from God above,

Changing our lifestyle,

Filling our days with love.

How do we thank God,

For our precious child?

So beautiful and perfect,

On us He’s surely smiled.

Dependant on our nurturing,

Inquisitive of all that's new.

Eating, sleeping, growing,

Lord, made in the image of You.

Guide us as we teach him,

On Your path to walk.

So You may be reflected

In all relationships and talk.

We are now parents,

Grow us in Your way,

So we may be Your example,

To our child every day.
