August 2008....The great love of the Lord

 

We give thanks to the LORD, for He is good;
His love endures forever.

When we cried to the LORD in our trouble,
He delivered us from our distress.
He led us by the hand
To a place where we could settle.

Let us give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love
And His wonderful deeds for men,
For He satisfies the thirsty

And fills the hungry with good things.

When we cried to the LORD in our trouble,
He saved us from our distress.
He brought us out of the deepest gloom
And broke away our chains of bondage.

Let us give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love
And His wonderful deeds for men,
For He breaks down gates of bronze
And cuts through bars of iron.

When we cried to the LORD in our trouble,
He saved us from our distress.
He sent forth His word and healed us;
He rescued us from the grave.

Let us give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love
And His wonderful deeds for men.
Let us give Him thank offerings
And tell of His works with songs of joy.

When we cried to the LORD in our trouble,
He brought us out of our distress.
He stilled the storm to a whisper;
The waves of the sea were hushed.

Let us give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love
And His wonderful deeds for men.
Let us exalt Him in the assembly of the people
And praise Him before all mankind.

He lifts us out of our affliction in our time of need,
We see His great works and rejoice.
Let us be wise and heed these things
And remember the great love of the LORD.
