January 2011...Let Us Boast About the Lord

Dear Lord,

 

Another new year is upon us,

Resolutions have been made;

Even in our weakness,

We need not be afraid.

God chooses the ordinary and the weak,

Those who praise His name forever;

We need not be influential or noble,

Or by human standards clever.

Those who the world thinks common,

Are the ones that God has chosen;

Who have nothing to boast about to God,

But that their Saviour is risen.

God has compassion on all He's made,

He is our virtue and our wisdom;

God is slow to anger and rich in love,

He is our holiness and our freedom.

God blesses the poor in spirit,

Who bow down in one accord;

So if anyone wants to boast,

Let him boast about the Lord.
