August 2009...Jesus Prayed for Us

God sent His only Son, Jesus,
To be our guiding light.
He lived here in this world,
A brother in our sight.

Finding a quiet place to pray,
Heavenwards, He'd lift His face;
His Father's love would surround Him,
And fill Jesus with His grace.

“Father, I pray not only for these disciples,
But for followers of Me through their word,
May all mankind be one in Us,
Believing You sent Me, as they have heard.

I give men the glory You gave Me,
So that they may be united, as We are one,
I in them and God in Me, perfection!
The world knowing You sent Your Son.

As You love Me, so You love them.
Father, they are Your gift to Me.
May My followers be wherever I am,
My glory, that You gave Me, to see.

You loved Me, Father,
Before the earth was formed.
Mankind does not know You,
But I do, My heart You warmed.

I will make known Your name to them;
That the love with which You love Me
May be in them and I in them.
Amen."
